Maintaining and Expanding Missions in Areas of Poverty.
With nearly fifty missions providing support to an estimated
10,000 new families, we use your gifts to help families
find needed medical services, employment, educational and
communication skills to build a future.
Improving Programs for Retired Sisters. Many Sisters
who reach retirement age or can benefit from assisted living
and nursing care require special individual attention. Your
gift ensures that they have the care they need and that
their skills in ministering to others are maintained.
Promoting the Need for Vocations. Critical to the
advancement of the mission of service to others is reaching
young women interested in our mission of prayer and teaching.
Your contributions help our Vocations Director advertise,
travel, educate and explore with young women and potential
lay missioners if there is a calling to serve God as a Mission
Helper.
Expanding Training and Catechetical Teaching. A
gift to this area of need helps us focus directly on each
Sister's continued training, education and research in the
tradition of the Catholic Church to better engage the community,
the neighborhoods and the individual in understanding the
meaning of living a life in Christ.
Capital Support
Maintaining and Updating our Facilities. Since the
Mission Helper Sisters have more than a 110-year history
of going out among and living with the people, they have
not used funds to build facilities throughout their areas
of service. However, the Sisters do maintain the Mission
Helper Center in Baltimore, Maryland, share and help support
The Villa, a Nursing Residence for almost 25 of our Sisters
along with the Sisters of Mercy, and have built small chapels
in areas of poverty and need. Your gift to Mission Helpers
can help us maintain our Center, support the Villa and our
small chapels.
