Mission Helpers of The Sacred Heart is a community of Roman Catholic Sisters who meet people where they are in life’s journey and respond to their needs — offering hope, making a difference, one life at a time. Theirs is a community without walls.
The Mission Helpers have a long and unique tradition of service. Since 1890, they have responded to the changes and challenges of the Church and the world, bringing their joy and hope to the lives of vulnerable people in all walks of life.
The Marketing and Development Intern will work closely with the Director of Mission Advancement and staff to assist with the efforts of the marketing and development objectives for the organization and will gain valuable hands-on experience in nonprofit advocacy organization while improving communication and organizational skills. The intern’s responsibilities will include learning how to research, writing and editing, graphic design and special event fundraising, grant writing and appeals.
The junior internship program is geared toward high school juniors and seniors who think they may like a career in development and fundraising. The ideal student is social media savvy and has some graphic design talents. He/she may work a flexible schedule and will be included in the Mission Advancement office team endeavors.
This is a great way for a high school student to gain valuable workplace experience and receive community service hours. Once the internship is completed, the intern will have print materials that they helped to create to add to his/her portfolio, and will receive a certificate for the community service hours documented while working in the program.
